Search engine optimization (SEO) is what helps your website get seen in the search engine results. What words are potential visitors typing into Google to find you? What are they searching for that you provide?
Once you start collecting a list of keyword ideas the next step is to start optimizing the pages on your website with the following on-page SEO elements.
The title of your page tells the search engines what the page is about, so it’s one of the most important SEO factors to consider. Make sure to include relevant keywords in your title that match those on the page itself.
It’s a good idea to include keywords in the headings you use on your page. Use proper H1, H2, and H3 tags for headlines that describe the text below. In addition to helping with SEO, headlines help break up the content on your page and make it easier for people to scan.
In addition to including keywords in your title and headlines, it’s also good to include those words within the copy of your page, especially towards the top. The length of the copy determines how many times to use a targeted keyword. You don’t want to over optimize! Keep the copy interesting and enticing so that people want to share and/or find out more.
#4. Call-to-Action (CTA)
Consider what you want the visitor to do next when they visit a page on your website. Include a clear call-to-action (CTA) to contact you, learn more or comment on a blog post.
